Who we are:
Industrial Relations and Organisational Development Organisation (I.R.O.D.O) was
founded in 1997. I.R.O.D.O is a unique consulting firm, consisting of a
multi-disciplinary team of well-qualified, highly skilled professionals. We
assist clients to improve their performance. Our success is rooted in the
effective development of individuals, relationships, teams and organisations. We
provide representation at the Labour Court, CCMA and Councils. We differentiate
ourselves through being client focused, having a holistic approach and thought
leadership in the psychological organisational development and labour law
disciplines.
Our expertise is in leadership development and we
assist leaders in creating conditions to enhance performance and labour
relations.

Irodo has two formal members: Marius and Dr. Caren
Scheepers. We operate in the Industrial Relations and Organisational
Development disciplines. Prior to being independent consultants we were
employed by international consulting companies and Lawyer Practices. We have an
extensive network of associates, like Marianne Roux, Victor Booysen, Ignatia
Sekonyela and Ntombi Langa - Royds. We specialise in Mentoring/ Executive
coaching, Management consulting and training service offerings on Leadership,
Performance management, Labour relations, Emotional Intelligence. We provide
high quality, cost effective training programmes which are focused on learner
needs and the standards of the National Qualifications Framework.
We are accredited by the Services Seta.
We enhance
effective leadership and dispute resolution in society, through equipping people
who resolve disputes with all the necessary skills and knowledge to do this
effectively.

Dr.
Caren Scheepers is a management consultant who has worked in various
environments to gain experience in Assessments, Leadership, Team and
Organizational development. The financial sector, e-commerce start-ups and
international consulting environments across industries, have allowed her to
pursue her interest in improving performance of individuals, teams and
organizations.
Caren’s passion for people development has
encouraged her to pursue studies and a career in the field of psychology,
management consulting and executive coaching.
Her career path includes two years as a registered
Psychologist (at a clinic and Department of Labour), eight consecutive years as
an internal Management Consultant in the Financial Services industry and four
years as an International Consultant at Gemini Consulting. Caren worked in
multi-disciplinary teams, consisting of consultants from Germany, USA, UK,
France, Australia etc.
She had the opportunity to attend the MBTI Step
11, CPA (Career Path Appreciation), CPP (Cognitive Potential Profile), MBTI, 15
PQ and Bar-on Emotional Intelligence courses and to become an accredited user.
For the past three years she functioned as an
independent consultant and founded the Irodo Consulting group (Industrial
Relations and Organisational Development Organisation, registered with Services
Seta) and has been involved with significant improvement of the performance of
executives and executive teams. She has been involved in Strategy
Formulation with diverse organizations, across industries and NGO’s.
She lectures at various Business Schools on
Leadership and Team Development, Emotional Intelligence, The People Factor,
Change Management and CRM. She is a registered facilitator and Assessor at the
Services Seta.
Caren holds a Ph. D. in Psychology and
certificates in Organisational Development and advanced Clinical Hypnosis. This
enables her to focus her executive coaching on strategic-emotional and values
intelligence.
Caren also holds a certificate in Wine tasting and
enjoys hiking, marathon running, scuba diving, cycling, 4 x 4’ing, traveling,
parenting, charity and missionary projects.
Marius
Scheepers
Marius
Scheepers practices as an Attorney and specialises in all Labour and Commercial
Law matters under the South African jurisprudence.
Marius Scheepers qualified with B. Proc and LLB
degrees and is admitted to practice as an Attorney of the High Court of South
Africa since 1990. He has since made his mark in the old Industrial Court and is
fully acquainted with the changes to the Labour law since the introduction of
the democratic dispensation. Representing Trade Unions, major Corporations and
Employers’
Organisations, he has gained skills and experience to effectively deal with both
Collective (e.g. strike action, mutual interests disputes, bargaining, mass
dismissals, retrenchments) and Individual (e.g. unfair labour practices, unfair
dismissals, automatically unfair dismissals) Labour matters.
Marius successfully represented Municipal
Government to finally resolve the major national labour strike that disrupted
the delivery of essential services during 1995. He appeared in groundbreaking
cases in the Labour Court, several of which were reported. He conducted urgent
Labour Court applications and amongst other cases, in 2002 successfully managed
that 367 employees were reinstated after an attempt was made to unfairly
retrench these people.
His interests include 4 x 4’ing, hunting, rugby,
parenting, wine tasting, and missionary projects.
Ntombi
Langa-Royds
Ntombi
holds a BA (Law), LLB and MDP and has eighteen years experience in the HR
environment. She has worked in financial services, (Southern Life Limited),
manufacturing (Nampak Limited), and both the electronic and print media
industries (SABC, Independent Newspapers). Her experience has spanned the
private and public sectors as well as the NGO/community environment. She has
worked for organizations that range from small and medium-sized, locally based
organizations to large, multinational global players.
Prior to consulting, her roles have ranged from
that of HR Officer to Group HR Executive.
Ntombi
consults in the total spectrum of Human Resources and has expertise in
restructuring initiatives, performance management, relationship building with
stake holders, designing and implementing change-sustaining initiatives to name
a few. She has participated in and presented several papers at seminars and
conferences on: restructuring initiatives, the retention of staff, the effect
of trauma on productivity, and survivor syndrome in the face of retrenchment and
affirmative action.
Ntombi
currently holds directorships in Faranani Investments (Pty) Ltd., Prime Media
Publishing (Pty) Limited, Deloitte & Touche Human Capital Corporation, Momentum
Life Group, Exhibitions for Africa and Greenleaf Centre for Servant Leadership. |
